Cashew rises on buying support

NEW DELHI, Nov 22:  Cashew prices rose by Rs 5 per kg in the national capital today on increased buying by retailers and stockists due to seasonal demand.
Further, tight stocks following fall in supplies from growing regions supported the uptrend.
Cashew kernel No 180, No 210, No 240 and No 320 rose by Rs 5 each to conclude at at Rs 805-815, Rs 705-715 Rs 645-655 and Rs 545-555 per kg, respectively.
Marketmen said increased buying by retailers and stockists against restricted supplies from growing belts, mainly pushed up cashew prices.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kg):
Almond (California) Rs 18,700, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 8,100-8,300; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,200-6,400; Abjosh Afghani Rs 14,000-21,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 665-675 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 600-700 per kg. (PTI)
