Cardamom futures rise 0.22 pc as demand picks up

NEW DELHI, July 24:  Cardamom prices moved up by 0.22 per cent to Rs 931.10 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions at existing lower levels, supported by pick-up in demand in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August rose by Rs 2, or 0.22 per cent, to Rs 931.10 per kg in business turnover of 151 lots.
In a similar fashion, the spice for delivery in September edged up by Rs 1.50, or 0.17 per cent, to Rs 901.90 per kg in 24 lots.
Market analysts attributed the rise in cardamom futures to pick up in demand in the spot markets. (PTI)
