CAPD conducts extensive checking, books defaulters

KATHUA, Oct 1: Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department Kathua headed by T.P Singh, Assistant Director Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Kathua, inspected various establishments of Kathua town, Kalibari, Lakhanpur area, Barnoti and highway.
About 47 commercial establishments like Hotels, Sweet Shops, Vegetable/Fruit Shops/Mutton/Chicken Shops and Karyana Shops were inspected,  out of which seventeen violators were booked and imposed fine amounting to Rs. 33800 .
Besides this Kerosene oil depot of Barnoti area, C.T.M area & Govindsar was also checked in which three Kerosene oil dealers had not displayed rate list and maintained proper record. Allotments of the three Kerosene oil dealers were stopped and issued show cause notice.  City’s Big Hotels like marriage palace was also inspected.
All the shop Keepers, Dhabha Owners, Hoteliers, Sweets Shop Owners and Namkeen manufacturers were directed not to use domestic L.P.G Cylinders for commercial purpose and display rate lists on their respective establishments, failing which strict action under L.P.G Act/Price display act and Essential Commodity Act shall be registered against the violators.
