Calliope School celebrates Annual Day

JAMMU, Mar 3: Calliope School, Doomi celebrated its annual day on the theme ‘Save Water’ with gaiety, fervour and great enthusiasm at the Abhinav Theatre, here.
State Vice president, Bhartiya Janta Party, Yudhvir Sethi was chief guest on the occasion while Manager Presentation Convent School Anice George was guest of honour.
The inauguration of Annual Day function was marked by a wonderful and extravagant live exhibition which was displayed in the form of cultural items, puppet dance, karate, yoga etc.
The function started with lighting of ceremonial lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana. KG kids also presented the dance with the great fun. Display of Marshal Arts and cultural items on ‘Save water’ by tiny tots were other attractions of the function.
A skit on ‘Save Water’ and ‘Krishna’ and dance item on Lord Ganesha song and umbrella dance were the main attractions of the function.
The Principal of the school, Kiran Raina, presented the school annual report.
Addressing on the occasion, Yudhvir Sethi emphasized that sound school education enables the students to perform well in their higher studies and also emerge as good citizens who contribute towards building a strong nation.
He requested the parents to give value based environment to the children at home, which is provided to them at schools.
The chief guest and guest of honour also distributed the prizes among the children for their performance in different activities in session 2016.
Chairman Manish Suri, Dr SP Suri, Prof Aruna Suri, Deepali Suri, Assistant Director, SKPA Udhampur, Randhir Singh, College Principal Sunita Pandita were also present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Manish Suri stressed on the importance of education in the modern world and said that value education, soft skills and good communication skills were essential to succeed in the present era. School Coordinator Priya Kohli welcomed the guests.
The programme was conducted by the coordinator of the school Amrita Sharma and Rajni.
