CAIT’s Sampuran Kranti Rath Yatra arrives Jammu

JAMMU, Dec 14: Sampuran Kranti Rath Yatra, launched by Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) from New Delhi about three months ago, arrived Jammu city here today.
This historic yatra which arrived here after covering 24 states, was received by the team of Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu province (J&K), led by its president and CAIT vice president, Neeraj Anand at Satwari Chowk this afternoon. `Kranti Rath’ had left Delhi on September 15, 2018. This Yatra will conclude on December 19, 2018 at Ram Lila Maidan, Delhi, where a grand rally will be organized by the traders community. The purpose is to create awareness among the masses about adverse impact of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in retail on the small and medium traders in the country.
While talking to media persons here CTF Jammu president Neeraj Anand said it is for the first time in the history of independent India that traders compelled by the changing business environment were forced to under take such Rath Yatra against bias Govt policies. He said such policies are posing threat to the survival of seven crore small traders.
Mr Anand extended gratitude to national president BC Bhartia and general secretary CAIT, Parveen Khandelwal for launching a movement to unite and educate traders across the nation. He claimed that a strong delegation of traders from Jammu region will participate in protest rally at Ram Lila Ground, New Delhi on Dec 19 to mark culmination of Rath Yatra. Earlier, a brief protest demonstration was also held at Gole Market Gandhinagar.
Sharing his experience of 24 states, Varinder Singh Wallia, convener said, traders across the country are up in arms against the faulty Govt policies that favour deep pocket giants over small retailers. He said there is strong resentment among the small traders across the nation.
Later, CTF felicitated, Varinder Wallia convener of Rath Yatra and co-convener Amarsi J Karia. Attar Singh, Parveen Gupta, Dinesh Gupta, Parag Abrol, Tushar Gupta, N S Jamwal, Ashish Gupta and others were present on the occasion.
