Cabinet Sub-Committee meets people’s representatives in Poonch, Rajouri

JAMMU, Jan 9: Continuing the mass contact meetings, the Cabinet Sub-Committee, (CSC) constituted for examining the creation of new administrative units today visited Poonch and Rajouri districts and listened to the local demands and suggestions.
The  local representatives from the cross section of society presented their suggestions and demands before the Committee Chairman Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand, and members Minister for Urban Development, and Urban Local Bodies, Nawang Rigzin Jora, Minister for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Sham Lal Sharma, Minister for Agriculture, G.H. Mir, Minister for Higher Education, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Minister for Planning & Development, Ajay Sadhotra and Minister for Law, Justice and Parliament , Mir Saifullah  .
Secretary, Revenue, Vinod Koul also accompanied the Sub Committee during the visit.
At Poonch, MLA Havelli, Ajaz Jan and MLA Mendhar Rafiq Ahmed Khan were also present.
Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Government has constituted Cabinet Sub-Committee to ensure that the   new administrative units are formed as per the aspirations of the people.
Responding to the local demands, Deputy Chief Minister said that owing to geographic location, the border districts of Poonch and Rajouri have lagged behind on developmental front, which was needed to be addressed soon. He said with the creation of new administrative units the bad pockets would get an opportunity to get their share of development, adding that the Government initiative of holding direct meetings by CSC has been taken to know the aspirations of people so that the deserving areas are not neglected in the process.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the proposals and suggestions received in this context will be sent to the revenue authorities for review  and will be given due consideration before finalizing the constitution of new administrative units in the state.
Later, the Cabinet Sub -Committee held interactions with local representatives in Rajouri, including members of different political parties, sarpanches, and civil society members.
Minister of State for Health, who is also local MLA, Shabir Ahmed Khan and MLA Dharal, Ch Zulafkar Ali were also present on the occasion.
The Committee members gave patient hearing to the valuable   suggestions of the public representatives and assured that these would be given due consideration by the Government.
Meanwhile, Radhay Sham Sharma, (Minister of State), Vice Chairman, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of Kissans and MLA Nowshera Constituency has submitted a detailed charter containing eleven demands for creation of new administrative units in Nowshera Constituency to the Cabinet Sub-Committee.
He has demanded creation of district for Nowshera comprising of three tehsils namely Nowshera, Sunderbani and Kalakote, creation of tehsils at Laroka in tehsil Nowshera and Siot in tehsil Sunderbani, creation of niabats at Bhawani, Qilla Dharal, Dandesar and Seri in tehsil Nowshera, creation of niabats at Channi Prat, Bambliaya, Devak and Kangari in tehsil Sunderbani, creation of CD Blocks at Lamberi, Bhawani and Seri in block Nowshera, creation of CD Blocks at Devak, Kangari and Siot in tehsil Sunderbani, creation of patwar halqas five each in both the tehsils of Nowshera and Sunderbani, creation of Sub District Headquarters at Sunderbani, creation of post of SDM for Sunderbani, creation of post of Additional District and Sessions Judge at Nowshera and creation of post of Sub Judge at Sunderbani.
