BVP organizes blood donation camp

KATHUA, July 10:  Bharat Vikas Parishad Kathua Unit organized a blood donation camp today in District Hospital Kathua as a part of celebration of Foundation Day of the Parishad.
The Parishad has fixed a target of donation of one lakh units of blood this year all over the nation. The Kathua Unit has planned to contribute 100 units of blood in a phased manner. 10 pints of blood was donated today in first phase. The program was conducted by a team of technical experts under the supervision of Dr. A.D Manhas, Medical Superintendent Distt. Hospital Kathua.
While speaking on the occasion, Gandharb Singh Katal, president of the local unit of Parishad stressed upon the need of donating blood for saving the lives of patients and specially for the accident cases who need immediate blood. He described the blood donation activity as a routine program of the Parishad and narrated that the Parishad is going to undertake mass scale plantation in the current rainy season. Present during the programme were Prof. Ram Murti Sharma, Er. P.C Gupta, Vidhya Rattan Sharma, Kartar Singh Lakhanpuria, Bansi Lal Gupta, Shiv Parsad Sharma, Ditt Kumar Sharma. Ashok Gupta, secretary of the Unit appreciated the gesture of the donors.
