Burglars gang busted, 17 arrested held

Srinagar, Mar 18: Police in north Kashmir’s Sopore Town of Baramulla district have busted a burglars’ gang after by arresting its seventeen members.
A police spokesman said during past few months, police in Sopore were receiving many complaints of burglaries in the Town and regarding which various cases under FIR numbers 14, 22, 27, 37, 48, 56, 57, 58, 59 and 61/2017 under section 457,380,511,427/ RPC were registered.
“To nab the burglars, a special investigating team was constituted and investigation was taken up. The investigating team succeeded in arresting seventeen burglars who during questing confessed the crime,” the spokesman said.
He said they have been identified as Adil Subhan Ganie, Bashir Ahmad. Zubair Ahmad, Asif Majeed Sheikh, Mehraj-ud-Din Kana, Shahid Ah. Malik , Kaiser fayaz War, Umer Mushtaq War, Abdul Qayoom Ganie, Imran Ahmad Sofi, Manzoor Ahmad Shah, Irshad Ahmad Akhoon, Mohammad Ramzaan Sofi, Khazir Mohammad, Mohammad Waseem Bhat, Ashiq Hassan Dar and Irshad Ahmad Mir.
“Stolen property worth lakhs has been recovered on the instances of these burglars. Further investigation in to the matter is going on,” the police spokesman added.
