Burglars decamp with ornaments, Rs 50,000 cash

KATHUA, Apr 18: Panic griped Ward 17 of Kathua with increasing cases of burglary and theft. The burglars intruded in the house of Roman Kumar last night when the family members had gone to Jammu and decamped with Rs 50, 000 cash and ornaments worth over Rs 1.5 lakh.
The Kathua Police has registered a case in this regard under relevant sections of the law. The burglars intruded the house after breaking the doors and had ransacked the house.
It may be recalled that two days back the burglars had intruded in the house of  a police officer in the same locality during broad day light and decamped with cash and ornaments when no body was in the house. The repeated incidents of burglary has made people panicky and they have demanded that police should intensify vigil in the area.
