JAMMU, Jan 10: Additional spokesperson, National Conference, Surinder Singh Bunty today sought end to alleged agent culture in the office of PRO (Rehabilitation), charged with the crucial responsibility of scrutinizing applications for rehabilitation package for the Pak occupied Kashmir (PoK) refugees.
“The unfortunate nexus due to agent culture is proving counterproductive and detrimental to the interests of the suffering refugees”, Bunty said in a statement, adding that the displaced community is feeling harassed by the unauthorized and unscrupulous agents, who were allegedly enjoying patronage of some officials with vested interest.
Bunty sought probe into functioning of the PRO (Rehabilitation) office in the wake of severe complaints of the displaced families, saying that the unauthorized and unscrupulous agents can be seen roaming in and outside the office unabatedly. “This cannot happen without the patronage and nexus of some unscrupulous officials”, he said and called for identifying them for delivering exemplary punishment under the conduct rules.
