Bullet-riddled body of missing youth found

Srinagar, Apr 15: A bullet-riddled body of a youth who had gone missing since last night was recovered today from an orchard in Watergam area of Rafiabad in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police officer told Excelsior that the Suhail Ahmad Khan, son of Shabir Ahmad Dar, resident of Khahipora village of Qaziabad in Handwara area of Kupwara district, had gone missing last night after receiving a call. “Soon after receiving a call, he went outside and didn’t return. Today his body was spotted in an orchard at Watergam with a bullet wound,” he said.
The police officer said that the youth was shot at in his head with pistol. “The body of the slain was handed over to his family for final rites as they didn’t allow us to conduct post-mortem,” he said, adding that a probe has been initiated into the case.
The officer said they cannot rule out the hand of militants behind the murder.
Sources said that the uncle of the slain is a former Sarpanch while his friend namely Shahnawaz Ahmad Khan of Super Naghama village of Handwara was killed in a similar manner on March 11 this year at Kralgund.
