SRINAGAR: One of the two Ministers, who resigned from the Cabinet after their portfolio was changed following induction of another Minister from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) quota, has again joined the ministry today.
“I held detailed meetings with PDP President and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti for the past two days and I am satisfied with the response,” Basharat Bukhari said this evening, adding that he will work with equal dedication to his new assignment.
He said change of portfolio was one of the reason for resigning from the Cabinet. However, he said, there were other reasons also, which he was raising for the past about two months. Mr Bukhari, who represents Sangrama constituency, said he was slightly disturbed, when he was shifted from the Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation ministry.
“I had worked very hard and was doing a very good job. I had planned many projects and others were in the pipeline. You get disturbed when you had left your plans half way.” He thanked all officers and officials of Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation for extending all help to him during his tenure as Minister of these departments.
About the new portfolio, Mr Bukhari said Horticulture is equally very important. ”I will work to take the department to new heights,” he added. (AGENCIES)
