Building collapse: Toll mounts to 3; labourers protest, demand compensation

JAMMU, July 30: The toll in the collapse of under-construction portion of double storied banquet hall “Kangra Fort” in Upper Barnai area mounted to three.
As per inputs, one more labourer identified as Munna, son of Dasso, resident of Bilaspur, failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), here today.
The condition of the seven others, who were also injured in the incident, was stated to be stable, when last reports poured in.
Meanwhile, around 80 to 90 labourers assembled in the premises of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) and raised slogans demanding compensation for the kin and kith of those killed in the collapse and also for those, who received injuries in the incident.
As reported earlier, two labourers were killed and eight others were injured yesterday when a rooftop of an under-construction portion of double storied community hall “Kangra Fort” collapsed in Upper Barnai area, falling under the jurisdiction of Domana Police Station.
