The Budget presented by State Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu is nothing but a jugglery of figures. The Budget has caused disappointment to almost every section of the society. Though the Budget has given some lollipops to the State Government employees but the Budget has caused disappointment and heartburns to the pensioners of the State Government. There is nothing for the pensioners in the Budget which could have enthused them. Pensioners had high hopes from this Budget but their hopes have got dashed. The pensioners were expecting hike in Medical Allowances from monthly Rs 300 to Rs 1,000 but Finance Minister remained silent on this issue. They had pinned their hopes on the Finance Minister that he will make announcement about providing insurance cover to the pensioners but nothing like that happened.
The pensioners appeal the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu to release DA in favour of the State Government employees and pensioners which is pending from July 2016. They have also demanded that all the pensioners of the State Government be provided insurance cover.
