NEW DELHI: Bahujan Samajwadi Party chief Mayawati today expressed her party’s unequivocal support to the government in passing the Goods and Services Tax Bill in the Rajya Sabha.
Speaking during a debate on ‘Commitment to India’s Constitution’, as part of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr B R Ambedkar, Ms Mayawati said, ”If the government feels that bringing the GST Bill will help in furthering the process of economic reforms, the BSP will support the passage of the Bill in Parliament.”
The statement by Ms Mayawati assumes significance in the direction of resolving the stalemate between the government and the Opposition on the GST Bill.. (AGENCIES)
