BSP leader opposes reservations to unreserved categories

JAMMU, Mar 6: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has opposed the grant of six percent reservation to unreserved castes and three percent reservation of Pahari speaking people in the State and termed it violation of basic spirit and Constitutional provisions of reservation.
In a statement issued here, today Charanjeet Singh State vice president of the Party termed it a political stunt to appease the people on the name of reservations. Such an immature decision will lead to confusions and more litigations only, he added.
He said the actual issue of 27 percent reservations to OBCs has been ignored since 1993 and tough they constitute 32 percent of State’s population get only two percent reservation which is an injustice with them.
