BSP demands 27% reservation for OBCs

JAMMU, Apr 6: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has demanded 27 per cent reservation for OBCs.
Addressing a press conference, SR Majotra, President, All J&K BSP expressed resentment against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) for not keeping the main gate of the Shree Guru Ravi Dass Ji Temple at Krishna Nagar neat and clean.

“Various religious and social organizations urged the JMC to keep the main gate of the temple neat and clean, but nothing has been done”, he stated.
He added that Government announced 6 per cent reservation to Pahari speaking people, but ignored OBCs and appealed to the Government to provide 27 per cent reservation to OBCs as per Mandal Commission.
Majotra also extended support to the youth, who are on hunger strike demanding installation of status of Shri Guru Ravi Dass Ji Maharaj on Tawi bridge and renaming of the chowk as Guru Ravi Dass Chowk.
Among others present were Charanjeet Chargotra, Vice President, BSP, TD Singh, Ex President, Som Nath, Ex MLA, Jagdish Verma, RK Thappa, Badrinath, etc.
