JAMMU, Jan 15: State unit of Bahujan Samaj Party today celebrated the birthday of BSP national president Kumari Mayawati (MP).
Her birthday is celebrated as ‘Jan Kalyan Diwas’ by the party. A large function was held at Guru Ravi Dass ji Satsang Bhawan, Sikanderpur Kothey, Bishnah in district Jammu today. Raja Ram, MP Rajya Sabha and Co-ordinator BSP for Jammu & Kashmir, Andhra Pardesh and West Bengal was the chief guest on the occasion while Tarsem Lal Khullar, State president of the Party presided over the function, whereas, Som Nath Majotra, State vice president was the guest of honour.
The venue of function was decorated with blue flags of BSP and portraits of Kumari Mayawati, founder father Late Kanshi Ram and Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The surrounding area was giving a festive look as the peoples who were coming in groups at the venue were dancing to the beat of drums. To give the boost to the sentiments of people, Sonu Heer & party sung the missionary songs.
While congratulating the general public on the occasion, State BSP president Tarsem Khullar welcomed Raja Ram by garlanding him amidst loud cheers of public. Khullar said that the day is most significant for the Indian masses as their movement is in the strong hands of Mayawati, who took the reins from Kanshi Ram. She is taking the ‘Carvan’ of Dr Ambedkar much forward with great speed. He said that the time has come when the movement of social transformation is reaching to its logic end.
SR Majotra criticized the BJP-PDP Govt for depriving the peoples of their rights. He said BJP who once claimed to be the sole leaders of Jammu has become the puppets in the hand of PDP.
Raja Ram while speaking explained the path of movement in detail. He said Kumari Mayawati is leaving no stone unturned to achieve the ultimate goal of capturing the political power at the Centre. Dr Ambedkar had once said political power is the only key with which you can open any lock. He further said that the demonetization is the drama created by BJP. The 60% of Indian masses are poor, they have no black money. These poor people are living under miserable condition. The Govt in Centre led by BJP has no intention to take out black money. They are just making foolish the masses for the sake of vote bank.
The chief guest and others distributed blankets among poor and needy and books and stationery items among poor children.
Prominent among those present included Hari Chand Thapa, Somnath Ex- MLA, Rattan Lal Chargotra, Rattan Kumar Bhagat, Jagdish Verma, Raja Singh, Ajaib Singh Mottan, BD Thapa, BL Digra, Charanjit Bitta, Raj Kumar Thapa, Tulsi Dass Langeh, Deepak Rana, Piran Ditta, Pawan Gupta and KL Attri.
