BSF School lifts ‘Khelo Khel-Bhulo Nasha’ Soccer Championship

JAMMU, Feb 17: Scripting a convincing win by two goals to nil (2-0) over KC Public School in the summit clash, BSF School Paloura lifted the title trophy of ‘Khelo Khel-Bhulo Nasha Jammu Soccer Championship’, at Parade Ground, here today.
The soccer tournament for Jammu School students in which 10 schools namely APS Akhnoor, Jodhamal Public School, little Flower School, Living Bethel School, BSF School Paloura, Heritage School, JP World School, KV Bantalab School, KV-2 Cantt. School and KC Public School participated, was organized by District Police Jammu, under Civic Action Programme (CAP) of J&K Police.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu, SD Singh Jamwal was the chief guest on the occasion, who distributed trophies, other prizes and a cash prize of Rs10, 000 and Rs 5,000 among the winners and runner-up teams. He was accompanied by Ashkoor Ahmad Wani DIG; In-charge SSP Jammu, Dr. Vinod Kumar; SP Headquarters Jammu, Ramesh Kotwal and Rajesh Gill, Chief Prosecuting Officer.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Vikrant Sharma CPO, Anil Mangotra CPO, Arjun Choudhary MD KC Sports Club, Surinder Singh Bunty, Vice President JKFA and Yousaf Don.
Speaking on the occasion, SD Singh said that sports is the best medium to help youth not to derail from the mainstream, adding that drugs and other such evils can never lure sportspersons, because sports and games teach them discipline, team spirit, besides infusing in them social and moral values.
IGP Jammu further stressed upon the budding footballers to continue their sporting activities in order to remain physically, mentally and socially fit.
Meanwhile, in the final, BSF School Paloura defeated KC Public School by two goals to nil (2-0). The first goal was scored by Shivam Sharma in the 24th minute, while the second goal was netted by Sourav Kumar in 54th minute. KC Public School players though made all out efforts, yet could not convert their half chances into the goals.
The tournament was organized under the supervision of In-charge SSP Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar and the organizing committee included Ramesh Kotwal SP Headquarter; Sugandha Mahajan DySP Headquarters; Gourav Mahajan DySP DAR; Ragubhir Singh SHO Nowabad and Ajay Bhat, SHO Pacca Danga, while Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer NHRC Jammu was the Coordinator of the event.
The matches were officiated by Rahul Sharma, Dheeraj Menia, Moon Stephan and Neetika, while the proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by Sugandha Mahajan, DySP.
