BSF, Pak Rangers hold flag meet along IB in Samba

JAMMU : Border Security Force officials and Pakistani Rangers today held a flag meeting along the Indo-Pak International Border in Ramgarh Sector of Samba district, official sources here said.

“BSF officials led by 2-IC 200 Battalion BSF Sukhwinder Bangar and a delegation of Pakistani Rangers led by Mohammad Ali, Wing Commander, 12 Chenab Range this afternoon had a detailed meeting at Chambliyal Post of Ramgarh Sector,” official sources here said.

They said the BSF officials raised the issue of firing from across the border besides the cultivation of ‘sarkanda’ (wild bushed) along the border.

“The forces from both the sides had a detailed one-hour long meeting over the issues,” they said and added that the Pakistan Rangers, however, denied their role in cross border firing.

The meeting started at 1300 hrs and lasted for an hour. On July 12, Pakistan violated the truce by targeting forward Indian posts in Arnia Sector. (AGENCIES)
