BSF jawan shoots self to death

MENDHAR, Feb 26: A Border Security Force (BSF) jawan  committed suicide by shooting himself to death with his service gun at  Sonawali Gali Post  in  Mankote  sub sector of   Mendhar in district Poonch  early today.
Identified as Sepoy, Parmod Kumar  of   B Company of  200 Battalion,  BSF, the soldier was  deployed in Uchhad area of Mankote, near the Line of Control.
According to Police, Parmod was on night duty at Sonawali  Post  in  Mankote  area of Mendhar. After  finishing his duty in the morning, he  took his service gun and shot himself,  resulting into his instant death.
The other jawans in panic came out of the post. They informed senior officers and later passed on message to the  Mendhar Police   Station. The Police reached there and took the body into its custody and shifted it to Mendhar Sub District Hospital for postmortem.
After conducting autopsy and other formalities,  the body was handed over to BSF unit officials for further shifting it to his  home State  for last rites. Mendhar  Police  has registered a case under Section 174 CrPC.  Some frustration was said to be the cause of this step by the concerned BSF officials.
