BSF hands over 50-year-old man to Pak Rangers

JALANDHAR: The Border Security Force (BSF) today handed over a 50-year-old person to Pakistani Rangers after he inadvertently crossed over to Indian territory.

DIG RS Kataria of the BSF Punjab Frontiers HQ here said the BSF troops of BoP Kassowal, Ex 164 Bn, in Gurdaspur sector apprehended a Pakistan National namely Sabir Hussain son of Fazal Hussain, resident of Narowal in Pakistan after he crossed  inadvertently the International Boundary and entered inside Indian territory and reached near Border Security Fence at about 2000 hrs yesterday.

The BSF officers contacted the Pakistan Rangers today and handed over the person to them this evening on humanitarian grounds after finding him that he had inadvertently crossed over to the Indian Territory.

DIG Kataria said during the current year till now, four Pakistani nationals had been handed over to the Pakistani Rangers after they had entered into the Indian Territory inadvertently. (AGENCIES)
