JAMMU, Nov 10: British International School organized ‘My India My Pride’ Week with a colourful programme showcasing the cultural heritage of the nation.
The function was presided over by the chief guest, BB Vyas, Chief Secretary J&K and the guest of honour, John Hart, Principal British International School, Budapest, Hungary.
The programme started with the welcoming of chief guest as per Indian tradition followed by traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
Kids displayed their singing, dancing and acting abilities.
The BIS kids on the occasion portrayed the vibrant and awe-inspiring dance forms of the various states.
They adorned traditional attires that reflected the free spirits and extravagant of Indian culture.
The young amateurs performed a skit, depicting facts from all the chapters of the Ramayana.
The chief guest, and the guest of honour highlighted the importance of revolutionizing the ways teacher teaches’ and the students learn inside classroom.
They said that there was a dire need to meet the challenges of classroom in a more pragmatic manner, adding that to create perceptible quality enhancement in education, there must be regular interaction between teachers, students and parents.
The guests also lauded the performance of children and told them to take their talent to the next level. Students received general proficiency prizes from the chief guest. Earlier, chairperson of the Institute, Gita Sharma presented welcome address.
Finally, the vote of thanks was presented by Sanjana Katoch and Indu Kapoor, Coordinators.
