The Indian System of Medicine (ISM) must be brought under scanner for examining whether or not it has developed a nexus between the suppliers of medicines and the consumer agency which is the ISM itself.
We have come to know that the ISM had placed orders for supply of large scale medicines to it that were declared sub-standard by the official committee in its report of 2016. Surprisingly, ISM has placed orders with the same Pharmaceutical Companies whose manufactured drugs were declared spurious last year.
The question we would like to ask is how come that a pharmaceutical company charged with the irregularity of supplying substandard drugs is again given fresh orders for supply of medicine when under rules placing orders with tainted pharmacies is disallowed. Obviously, there is a nexus between the interested people who manage things with pecuniary objectives. This is unacceptable because it means playing with the health of lakhs of innocent people on the State.
