Brilliant Akshit scores 85 as KCCC, Blue Star script emphatic wins

*Mithu powers Badhori CC to 5-wkt win

JAMMU, kathua, SAMBA, June 3: Promising youngster Akshit scored 56-ball 85 runs, studded with 12 fours and 1 six to guide Kishan Chand Cricket Club (KCCC) to 43-run win over Laxmi Cricket Club in the ongoing JKCA Premier U-16 Cricket Tournament, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel ground, here.
Batting first, KCCC scored 160 runs in the stipulated 20 overs. Akshil top scored with 85 runs, while Abhay Tandon scored useful 21-ball 21 runs. Rahil took 2 wickets for Laxmi Cricket Club, while Dhruv Parmar, Madhav, Dhruv Gupta, Jugjap and Sharay claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Laxmi CC scored 117 runs in 19.4 overs, thus lost the match by 43 runs. Dhruv Parmar top scored with 55 off 30 balls, including 6 fours and 4 sixes, while Yuvraj contributed 16 runs to the total. For KCCC, Nityam Abrol took 3 wickets, while Aquib and Sparsh shared 2 wickets each.
In another match of Under-16 category at the same venue, Blue Star Cricket Club defeated Mayank Goswami Cricket Academy by 7 wickets in an easy contest. MGCA scored a modest total of 106 runs. Tejas and Chandan contributed 17 runs each. Madhav, Aryan and Shah Raja took 2 wickets each for Blue Star.
Blue Star CC chased the target easily in 11.3 overs by losing 3 wickets, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Chitwan top scored with 66 runs, while Harpreet contributed 24 runs to the total.
At Pandit Prem Nath Dogra ground Smailpur, Bhadori Cricket Club rode on brilliant all-round performance by Mithu to outplay Smailpur Cricket Club by 5 wickets.
Samilpur CC scored a modest total of 115 runs in 20 overs. Shivi and Basu contributed 29 and 24 runs to the total respectively. Mithu, Manish and Rahul shared 2 wickets each for Badhori Cricket Club.
IN REPLY, Badhori Cricket Club chased the target in 17 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Mithu top scored with 51 runs, while Shammi contributed 30 runs. Shubham and Manish took 2 wickets each for Smailpur CC.
Meanwhile, at Sports Stadium Kathua, Shivam XI thrashed Gagan XI by 90 runs.
Batting first, Shivam XI scored a decent total of 210 runs in 29.4 overs. Rajesh scored 75 runs, while Shivam scored 71 runs. Shubham took 5 important wickets for Gagan XI, while Monu claimed 2 wickets.
Gagan XI, in reply bundled out for 120 runs to lose the match by a big margin of 90 runs. Monu and Raina contributed 37 and 26 runs to the total. Sanjay was the pick of the bowlers from Shivam XI who took 4 wickets, while Manoj bagged 3 wickets.
The amtch was officiated by Dheeraj and Ricky as um,pires, while Kulbhushan Singh was the scorer.
