JAMMU, May 29: A brick kiln worker has been arrested for raping a minor girl in Nari area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, a brick kiln worker identified as Kailash Kumar (22), son of Devi Dayal, a resident of Chhattisgarh, at present Nari raped a 15-year-old girl.
The accused threatened the girl of dire consequence if she revealed the episode to anyone.
However, the girl mustered courage and narrated the ordeal to her mother, who along with other family members lodged a complaint with police station Miran Sahib in this regard.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 89/16 under Section 376 RPC was registered at Miran Sahib police station and manhunt was launched to nab the accused.
On specific information, a team from Miran Sahib police station conducted raid and nabbed the rapist.
The girl was restored to family members after conducting medical examination.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
