Brahman Sabha demands special train for Ardh Kumbh

JAMMU, Dec 8: Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha has expressed concern over the non-introduction of Jammu Prayag Raj Special Train, the demands of which have been put-forth from time to time to the authorities both at centre and at state level.
In a meeting, Sabha office bearers said, since the upcoming Ardh Kumbh Mela beginning from Jan 14, the day of ‘Makar Sakranti’ which has tremendous significance from religious and spiritual point of view, it becomes imperative that such service for the pilgrimage is ensured.
In a meeting Sabha President, Ved Prakash Sharma said: “The pilgrims faced a lot of difficulties last time when Kumbh Mela started at Prayag and this time we hope that nobody is put to trouble,” he said.
He appealed to the Governor, Satya Pal Malik to take up the issue at the highest level so that there is no hiccup in providing this much needed facility for people of Jammu & Kashmir State.
Vice-President Virendar Mohan Magotra, Satyanand Sharma, Subash Shastri, Jagan Nath Sharma, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Sat Pal Sharma, and others were also present in the meeting.
The Sabha President further announced that the Sabha will celebrate the Jayanti of first Paramveer Chakar Vijayta Shaheed Som Nath Sharma on Jan 31, 2019 as a Sankalap Diwas.
