Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 72 cattle rescued, 5 smugglers arrested

JAMMU/RAMBAN, Jan 10: Nagrota, Ramban and Chanderkote Police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 72 cattle and arresting five smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted two trucks bearing registration number JK02BK-7125 and HR55L-7921.
During checking, police rescued 37 cattle from the vehicles and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Arshad Ali, son of Talib Hussain of Ragoora Jammu and Alim, son of Arshad Khan, a resident of Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Case under FIR Number 28/19 and 29/19 under section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act have been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Deepak Pathania made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma and SP Rural Dushyant Sharma.
Meanwhile, teams from Ramban and Chanderkote Police Stations laid nakas in their respective jurisdiction, rescued 35 cattle from three Srinagar bound vehicles and arrested three persons.
The arrested persons have been identified as Anwar Hussain, son of Abdul Gani of Khanpora, Nagrota, Mohammad Yousuf, son of Ghulam Nabi Wani of Thathar Banihal and Mohammad Irfan, son of Noor Hussain of Kunfer Chanderkote.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Ramban and Chanderkote Police Stations and investigation started.
Police teams led by SHO Ramban Inspector Vijay Kotwal and SHO Chanderkote Inspector Abid Bukhari made the arrest under supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
