Bovines smuggling bids foiled; 50 cattle rescued, 6 arrested

JAMMU, Nov 6: Chenani, Dessa and Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 50 cattle and arresting six persons including father and his son.
As per police sources, on specific information about cattle smuggling to Kashmir, a team from Chenani Police Station laid a naka at Dhramthal and intercepted a truck bearing registration number HP64-2392.
During checking, police rescued 22 cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Amarjit Singh, son of Sarwan Singh, a resident of Nallahgarh, Solan, Himachal Pradesh and Mushtaq Ahmed, son of Saraj Din of Marallian, Tehsil RS Pura, District Jammu.
In the meantime, the team also intercepted a truck bearing registration number HR55P-7134 and during checking rescued 11 bovine animals from the truck and arrested a father and his son.
The arrested persons have been identified as Mohammad Saleem, son of Abdul Gafoor, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and his son Mohammad Waseem.
Cases under FIR Number 138/17 and 139/17 under Section 188 RPC have been registered at Chenani Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Chenani Inspector Paramjit Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bids under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Chanderjit Singh, Additional SP Udhampur Feisel Qureshi and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
Meanwhile, Dessa police headed by SHO Inspector Karan Singh alongwith SgCt Amrik Singh under the supervision of SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir laid a naka at Chubna Nallah Dessa and rescued 11 cattle and arrested a bovine smuggler, who has been identified as Roshan Din, son of Mohammad Amin Parray of Dessa.
A case under FIR Number 13/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Dessa and investigation started.
Nagrota police also rescued 6 bovine animals from a Tata Mobile and arrested a driver, who has been identified as Mohammad Khalid, son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Qazigund.
A case under FIR Number 241/17 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
