Bovines smuggling bids foiled

JAMMU, Nov 12: Chenani and Jhajjar Kotli police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 24 cattle and arresting six persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Chenani Police Station led by SHO Inspector Paramjit Singh under the supervision of SDPO Chenani Chanderjit Singh, Additional SP Udhampur Feisel Qureshi and SSP Udhampur Rayees Mohammad Bhat laid a naka and intercepted a Srinagar bound truck.
During checking, police rescued 19 cattle from the vehicle and arrested four persons.
Meanwhile, a team from Jhajjar Kotli Police Station laid a naka and during checking rescued five bovine animals from a Tata Mobile vehicle.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Chenani and Jhajjar Kotli Police Stations and investigation started.
