Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 32 cattle seized

RAJOURI, June 23: The Police foiled separate bovine smuggling bids in Thanamandi and Sunderbani areas, rescuing 32 bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
A team headed by SHO Sunderbani Tilak Raj along with police party laid special naka at Thandapani – Patrara road  and intercepted  two vehicles (Tata mobiles)  JK11B  4762 and  JK20 5057.
During checking, police recovered 17 bovines from both  the vehicles while four  smugglers namely Afraz  Ahmed, son of Mohd Latif,  resident of Palangar Thanamandi, Munshi Khan, son of Hakim Din, resident of Khablan Thanamandi, Mohd Qadir, son of  Mohd Nasir,  resident of Aitti,  Rajouri and  Shakeel Ahmed, son of Ghalam Hussain resident of Prat, Sunderbani were arrested. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
Meanwhile, police party headed by SI Mohd  Tasveer of PS Thanamandi under the supervision of SHO Nazir Ahmed Dar was on night patrol and received information that some vehicles loaded with bovine animals are heading towards Mughal Road and are presently on  link road Manghota.
The police party reached at Manghota and managed to intercept a group of bovine smugglers in three vehicles. Although smugglers  tried to run away from the spot but were nabbed.
They included,  Mohd Shabir, son of Mohd Bashir, resident of Nadiyan Darhal, Imran Ahmed, son of Fateh Mohd, resident of Rajdhani and Mohd Shokat, son of Mohd Bashir hailing from Khablan.
15 bovine animals were rescued from the clutches of smugglers while three vehicles bearing Registration No JK11B-9204, JK20-6755 and JK11-7874 have  also been seized. FIRs No.. 106, 107, 108/ 2018 were registered against them.
