Bovines smuggling bids foiled, 27 cattle rescued

KATHUA/SAMBA, Dec 27: Nagri and Ghagwal police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 27 bovine animals.
As per police spokesman, on specific information, teams from Nagri Police Post led by SI Hukum Chand and SI Ashwani laid nakas at Palli Moth and Mai Chak under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Kathua SS Sambyal, Additional SP Sanjay Parihar and SSP Kathua Mohammad Suleman Choudhary.
During checking, police teams rescued 12 bovine animals from two vehicles and seized them, but the drivers of both the vehicles managed to escape from the spot by taking benefit of the darkness.
Cases under FIR Numbers 383/17 and 384/17 have been registered and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Ghagwal Police Station headed by SHO SI Rajeshwar Singh under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Samba Deepak Digra and SSP Samba Anil Magotra laid a naka at Tapyal and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number HP38C-7349.
Fifteen bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle during checking, while the accused driver managed to escape from the spot.
A case under FIR Number 109/17 under Section 188/RPC and 2/3 PCA Act has been registered at Ghagwal Police Station and investigation started.
