Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 9 cattle rescued

JAMMU, Feb 10: Police foiled bovines smuggling bid and rescued 9 cattle near Tinda Kalan area, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, based on reliable information, a team from Miran Sahib police station laid a naka near Tinda Kalan and signaled two Mahindra vehicles to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the drivers accelerated the vehicles and escaped from the spot. Suspecting something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicles near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, 9 bovine were rescued, while the accused drivers managed to escape from the spot taking benefit of the darkness.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Miran Sahib police station and manhunt was launched to nab the absconding drivers.
