Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 2 arrested

JAMMU, Apr 13: Nagrota and Dhamkund police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 9 cattle and arresting four persons.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka and intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK02BG-9185.
During checking, police rescued five bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Mohammad Rafiq (driver), son of Abdul Majeed of Miran Sahib, at present near Sainik School Nagrota and Altaf Hussain, son of Mohammad Bashir of district Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 84/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3/5 PCA Act has been registered at Nagrota Police Station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Dhamkund Police Station during checking at Zero Point morh intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK19-5437.
Police team rescued four cattle from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who have been identified as Abdul Rashid Sheikh, son of Mohammad Sultan Sheikh of Gugwani Neel and Wahid Wani, son of Khursheed Ahmed Wani of Seri District Ramban.
A case under FIR Number 16/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Dhamkund and investigation started.
