Bovines smuggling bid foiled, 2 arrested

RAMBAN, June 25: Police foiled bovines smuggling bid with the arrest of two persons and rescuing seven cattle from their possession.
As per police sources, based on specific information, a team from Ramban police station laid a naka and intercepted two persons carrying flock of bovine animals.
During questioning the persons failed to give satisfactory reply and police arrested them on the basis of smuggling bovine animals. Seven cattle were rescued from their possession, which they were trying to smuggle to Kashmir on foot.
The accused have been identified as Fareed Ahmed, son of Lal Din and Maksood Ahmed, son of Ghulam Din Bhat, both residents of Dooru, District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number under Section 188 RPC has been registered against the accused at Ramban police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramban Inspector Rajeshwar Singh foiled the bovines smuggling bid and made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Imtiyaz Ahmed and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
