Bovines smuggling bid foiled; 16 cattle rescued, one arrested

RAMBAN, Aug 20: Batote police foiled bovines smuggling bid by rescuing 16 cattle and arresting one person.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Batote Police Station laid a naka near Nashri and intercepted a truck.
During checking, police rescued 16 cattle from the truck and arrested the driver, who has been identified as Nazir Ahmed, son of Abdul Gafoor, a resident of District Baramulla.
A case under FIR Number 95/18 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Batote Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Batote Inspector Nazir Ahmed made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Ramban Asgar Malik, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
