Bovine smuggling bids foiled

RAJOURI, Sept 22: Police has foiled multiple bovine smuggling bids in Thanamandi sub division in last 36 hours rescuing a number of bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
During naka checking at TCP Thanamandi by a police team, headed by SHO Thanamandi Nazir A Dar, two Tatamobiles bearing registration number JK11B-3316 and JK11B-9450 were seen moving from Rajouri towards Mughal road. Police signaled the vehicles to stop but both the drivers fled away from the spot abandoning the vehicles During the search, 10 bovine animals were found loaded in the vehicles. Police rescued the bovines and seized both the vehicles besides registering a case FIR number 170, 171/2018 U/S 279/336/188 RPC.
Similarly, while checking at another naka, one Tata Mobile vehicle was intercepted near Thanamandi and 10 bovine animals were rescued from the vehicle bearing registration number JK22A 4716 driven by Mohd Altaf son of Nazir Ahmad, resident of Behrote Thanamandi who was arrested and booked in case FIR number 166/18 U/S 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act.
Another police team, headed by SHO Darhal Habib Pathan intercepted a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK11B 4668 at Kassian village and two bovines were rescued from the vehicle.
A case FIR number 68/2018 U/S 188/279/336 RPC/ 3 PCA Act has been registered at Darhal Police Station.
