Bovine smuggling bid foiled, 3 held

UDHAMPUR, Oct 30: Police today foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 10 bovine animals and arrest of three smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police party from Udhampur police station laid a naka at Jakhani and intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK13-2672.
During checking, police rescued 10 bovine animals and arrested three smugglers, who have been identified as Feroz Ahmed (driver), son of Abdul Razzak of Pantha Chowk, Srinagar, Umar Gani (conductor), son of Abdul Gani Khan of Gazoora, Srinagar and Shabir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Rasheed of Gadigarh Jammu.
A case under FIR number 414/14 under Section 188 RPC and 3 PCA Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Inspector Mahesh Sharma made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Gourav Mahajan and SSP Udhampur Suleman Choudhary.
