JAMMU, Feb 15: All J&K Border United Front (AJKBUF) today stressed upon the Government to redress the grievances of the border people and provide 5 marlas plot to each border family as promised.
Addressing a press conference here today, Ghanshyam Sharma, president of AJKBUF, stressed upon the PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State to provide 5 marlas of plot in a safe location to each family residing near Indo-Pak border, besides constructing individual bunkers so that during cross border firing and shelling by Pakistan, they can take shelter in those bunkers.
Stating that a large number of educated youth residing near Indo-Pak International Border in Jammu are unemployed, the AJKBUF demanded conducting of a special recruitment drive for these border youth and reservation in jobs for them like youth residing near LoC.
Sharma also asserted for establishing border health centers like primary health centres and demanded that those border people whose land falls under the fencing and ditch, be provide adequate compensation.
He further stressed for construction of bore wells in border areas for irrigation of land and demanded that BADP funds be used only in border areas.
Prominent among other present during the press conference were vice president, AJKBUF, Dr PJ Sharma, general secretary, Ashok Kumar, advisor, Rahul Raizada and secretary, Manohar Lal.
