UDHAMPUR, Feb 10: Ramnagar Police today arrested a bootlegger and seized 39 pouches of illicit liquor from his possession.
The accused, identified as Babu Ram of Satya Ramnagar, was intercepted by a Police party when he was travelling on foot near Post Office Ramnagar. During his thorough search, Police recovered 39 pouches of illicit liquor.
Police arrested the accused and seized the recovered liquor. A case in this connection has been registered at Police Station Ramnagar.
Meanwhile, three gamblers were arrested from MH Chowk, National Highway area in Udhampur town. The trio were arrested during a Police raid while gambling in a Tempo vehicle bearing registration number JK14-8439.
The accused were identified as Sanjay Kumar of Lambigali Udhampur, Romesh Kumar of ward no 8 Udhampur and Mohamed Rayaz of Ramti Udhampur. In this regard action under gambling Act has been taken against all the gamblers in Police Station Udhampur.
