Book on Dr Karan Singh selected by Library of Congress USA

JAMMU, Aug 16: A book titled “Karan Singh: Jammu and Kashmir 1949-1967” written by Harbans Singh has been selected by the Library of Congress, USA as a help to the research scholars and its members and staff.
This Research Library officially serves the United States Congress and is the de-facto National Library of USA. It is open to public but is primarily meant to serve the Congress through Congressional Research Service.
“Karan Singh: Jammu and Kashmir 1949-1967” was selected by Library’s Cooperative Acquisitions Programs that was established in 1962 in New Delhi office of the Embassy. It is the oldest and largest of the six regional offices worldwide, acquiring publications from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal and Sri Lanka as well as Tibetan publications from India and Nepal.
“The book deals with the events between 1949 and 1967 and the role played by Dr Karan Singh during those momentous years and depends upon primary and credible sources,” said the statement issued by G D Sharma.
