40 injured in day 5 clashes over SASB land

SRINAGAR, June 27: On 5th consecutive day of massive protests over diversion of 800 kanal of land at Baltal in favour of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), entire Kashmir valley today observed total shutdown as over a hundred demonstrations were staged in the Capital city and all major towns. Even as today's rallies were by and large peaceful and only thin groups of youngsters clashed with police at about 10 places in the Valley, at least 40 persons, including 15 police personnel, sustained injuries in ding-dong clashes, mostly after the Friday prayers concluded at mosques......more
