BOCA clears 12 building permission cases, rejects 34

JAMMU, Sept 18: The Building Operation Controlling Authority (BOCA) today cleared 12 building permission cases while rejected 34 during its meeting held here today.
The BOCA meeting was held under the chairmanship of PS Rathore, Vice Chairman Jammu Development Authority. The members of the BOCA during its marathon meeting examined 47 building permission cases, out of which 12 cases were cleared. 34 cases were rejected/ deferred due to some deficiencies including lack of sufficient approach roads. One case was totally rejected due to violations in the existing ground floor.
The BOCA meeting was attended by Director Land Management, JDA; Divisional Town Planner, JDA; Assistant Town Planner (JDA); Assistant Building Officer (JDA), Executive Engineers of PHE Div I &II, PHE Rural Division Jammu, Town Drainage Deptt and Sewerage & Drainage, Jammu.
The Vice Chairman JDA, who is also chairman of BOCA has appealed to the people not to construct buildings without getting their plans approved by the competent authority. He said in order to ensure planned and organized development, electric/ water connections for all type of constructions shall be sanctioned by the concerned departments only on the production of approved building plans and completion certificate issued by the authority under J&K BOCA Act.
