VIJAYWADA: Thirteen people lost their lives when their boat capsized in the Krishna river on Sunday evening.
According to police, 30 people, who were on picnic party on the occasion Karthika Masam, hired a boat operated by a private company. When the boat was sailing towards the confluence of Krishna and Godavari river, it capsized at upstream Prakasham barrage in Fherri village, about 16 km from here. So, far 13 bodies, including of two women, had been fished out.
According to the boatman, all the people in the boat shifted to one side to have a glimpse of Krishna-Godavari confluence, resulting in the accident. (AGENCIES)
