Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 22: A deputation of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) today met with Deputy Labour Commissioner of Jammu province at her office chamber and demanded her to ensure that bonus is given to all industrial and private sector workers before Diwali.
The delegation demanded that the bonus must be given to all the workers whether they are working directly under principal employer or through Labour supplier contractors. It was also stressed that Labour Department must ensure that over time must be given to all those workers who are doing 12 hours duties in factories, big shopping malls and as securities guards, etc.
“Since the wages are debited directly in workers bank accounts and no wage slips are provided to the workers as laid down under law, illegal deductions are made without the knowledge of workers”, the delegation alleged and demanded that wage slips must be given to workers in advance.
The worthy Deputy Labour Commissioner gave patient hearing and assure that she will give strict instructions to labour officials for implementation of labour laws and shall make assure that bonus be given to all the deserving workers.
