BLSKS stages musical play ‘Ladli’

JAMMU, Jan 21: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production today staged its 139th musical play ‘Ladli’ at Government Middle School (GMS), Kot.
Written, produced and directed by ML Dogra (chairman, BLSKS), the play reflects the agony of two conservative families which are hell bent upon getting their daughter and son married at tender age, ignoring the advice of intellectuals of the society.
But soon the marriage turns into a disaster making the life of both bride and groom miserable. Even bride ends her life owing to pangs of pregnancy at childhood after delivery of a dead baby. The cries of baby girl in womb of the mother caution all of us in the society “Don’t kill me. I will be your helping hand in old age”.
The song sung by the artists were “Hum Sab ki Ladli Beti”, “Dhiyan Gi Na Marro”, “Mang Rahi Hai Beti Jag Mai Jine Ka Adhikar”, “Baiman Lok Kase Diya Mar De”, “Sun -Sun Saheli Meri Sun, Paruhn Likhu Yehi Meri Dhun” and “Kya Pier Kahun Apne Mann Ki”.
The music was composed by Raju Bajgal and songs sung by students of BLSKS. The singers, musicians, actors and students BLSKS who performed in the musical play were Usha Handoo, KK Joshi, MC Kotwal, Hem Raj, Gouri Lal, Shan Khan, Soyam, Sunil Kumar, Kewal Kumar, Sant Das and many others.
