JAMMU, Sept 30: To celebrate the Vijayadashami and promote traditional culture of J&K, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS) presented its 176th Saturday Series Musical Play “Maa Vaishno” in collaboration with Sangam Tru Art Production as part of its regular feature at Durga Bhawan, Janipur Jammu on the theme of ” National Integration and Social Evils “.
The musical play was written, produced and directed by M L Dogra, former Regional Director, Song and Drama Division  Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ,Government of India and the music was assisted by renowned singer Usha Handoo and Raju Bajgal. The Program was inaugurated by the chief guest V K Magotra, former Regional Director, Directorate of Field Publicity, Government of India . Among the guests of honours were J K Raina, Producer, Director Films and K K Joshi, Vice Chairman,BLSKS.  The programme commenced with song “Teri Jai Ho Ganesh”, “Jai Jai Sheranwali” , “Mayia he mahiya meri Mahiya” , “Meri mai da Jhula Satrangiya” ,  “Tum Durga Tum Laxmi Tum Hi Maa Sheranwali”, Meri Maa Khol de tu mere bi Naisib Maaa”  presented by the artists of BLSKS .
Speaking on the occasion chief guest lauded the role of BLSKS for underlining the importance of staging such plays in all parts of the State. Earlier in his welcome address of Chairman, BLSKS, highlighted the story of Maa Vaishnavi Devi. This play was presented at Navratri Katra Festival.
The renowned artistes Usha Handoo, K K Joshi , Raju Bajgal, Hem Raj, Deevam Jandiyal, Druv Pandit, Afroz Raaz, Renu Saproo, Rajni Gupta, M C Kotwal, Vansh Raina, Kuldeep Raj, Ujwal, Nishesh Bhat, Megha Raina,  Rakshit Sharma,  Tilak Raj,  Mohan Sharma, J K Koul, Arvin Tickoo, Jatinder Jyotshi, Rahul Kilam, Pummy Zuthsi, Surinder Raina, Ramesh Koul,  Vijay Raina, Rajesh Khar, Vijay Sumbli, Kamal Ganjoo, Vanshika, Shival, Bodh Raj and many others gave their performance. Bhandara  was also served for the general public. Master Deepak Kumar presented vote of thanks.
