BLSKS holding ‘Duggar Sanskriti Mahotsav’ at Devak Nagri

JAMMU, Apr 10: Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan (BLSKS), Jammu in close coordination with the district administration, Udhampur and Union Ministry of Culture is holding three-day ‘Duggar Sanskriti Mahotsav’ at the bank of holy river Devak Nagri, Udhampur from April 13 to 15.
Interacting with the media persons, ML Dogra, chairman -cum-director, BLSKS Jammu, disclosed that the main attraction of the program will be songs, dances, Bhakh and Geetru, by the renowned troupes of Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and National awardee artists—Krishna Kumari, Bhakh Singer, Usha Handoo, Zulekha Farid, KK Joshi, Kamli and Neelam.
“Besides this, the artists will present memorable cultural programs in Dogri, Punjabi, Kashmiri, Bhaderwahi and Pahari Languages”, he said adding, a special daily “Devak Maiya” Arti by the artists, girls (Kanjkan), guest and locals in the evening.
The main aim of the festival is to promote rich cultural heritage of Jammu province like traditional folk theatre, folk songs and dances of J&K State.
