This has reference to the news item ‘Blacktopped surface starts damaging just in month’ DE Jan 4.
It is quite heartening to know that the Minister for Roads and Buildings Mohd Altaf Bukhari has ordered to make recovery from the contractors for sub-standard work on Sukrala-Machhedi road. This incidents will certainly set an example for those who indulge in sub-standard work. Hopefully, the contractors will learn a lesson or two from this episode, and would work sincerely on projects handed over to them for execution.
It is after a long persistent demand of the public of the State, that the Government has started working on black-topping of roads in the State.
The deplorable condition of roads is one of the major causes of road accidents in the State.
Besides, vehicles owners have to bear huge losses on account of wear and tear of their vehicles, with which they suffer due to poor condition of roads.
The Minister deserves kudos for this noble step.
