IMPHAL (MANIPUR), Feb 25: According to Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), MoS PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances, Pensions, Atomic Energy and Space, Dr Jitendra Singh, there is a BJP upbeat mood all over the State of  Manipur after a highly successful public rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi here today.
Speaking to media persons after the conclusion of a mammoth public rally addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the kind of enthusiasm and excitement with which, people from all over the State came down to Imphal, simply to have a glimpse of Narendra Modi, is in itself an evidence of the hope and trust with which they look up to Prime Minister Modi for redressal of all their problems. He said, it is possibly after several decades that a grand scene like this was witnessed today and this has obviously rattled the Congress ranks and files who have never seen any of their leaders attracting such a mammoth cheering crowd.
Earlier in the day, Dr Jitendra Singh met several BJP Karyakartas in groups and also engaged in direct interaction with cheering crowds of common people who had travelled from far-flung areas of the State. He said, a decisive victory for BJP is now a foregone conclusion and people are looking forward to the BJP government with a great expectation.
Dr Jitendra Singh said, BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and National President Amit Shah, has come as a ray of hope for the people of Manipur whose disillusionment with the Congress-led government has led them to a stage of total breakdown. On the one hand, there is the pathetic languishing of youth without jobs and elderly people ailing without medical treatment, on the other hand, he said, there is a constant fear and risk of violent incidents leading to loss of precious lives.
Modi’s assurance of corruption-free governance for the people of Manipur, Dr Jitendra Singh said, comes as a breeze of fresh air for a population of 25-30 lakhs living in a state of suffocation and exploited by rulers who have squandered the Central grants only to fill their coffers, while all the welfare projects have come to a standstill. He said, from today onwards, the entire population of Manipur cutting across all sections of society, cast and creed, have started looking forward to the beginning of new journey of development and growth like other BJP ruled States of India.
